Our story

Why we built GRIDSCOUT

GridScout was founded in 2025 by Joel Bulow and Campbell Border, who share backgrounds in energy markets, grid connections and software engineering.

During their time in industry they kept running into the same frustration: network data holds the answers to some of the most important questions in the energy sector, yet it's often hard and time consuming to decipher. Constraint equations are confusing to read, line headrooms have been largely inaccessible, and getting anything useful out of the grid meant being a specialist with dedicated software.

With tens of gigawatts of new projects in the pipeline, the congestion problem is only growing. Curtailment can now make or break a business case, and the teams that understand the risks and opportunities early hold a real advantage.

GridScout is a software platform which provides developers, operators and traders unprecedented visibility into the grid of the National Electricity Market. Live and historical network data, headroom, constraint analytics, curtailment insights and outage intelligence, all in one map-first platform. Today GridScout is trusted by some of the largest renewable developers, operators and traders in the NEM.

Our mission is simple: make the grid legible, so better projects get built in better places.
